New school year – multiple schools, not a problem

Posted on 28 August

Schools are about to start a fresh school year. School Trunk is going full steam ahead to get all the re-deliveries done ready for term to begin. There is a definite smell of fresh paint and a lovely clean feel to student accommodation our teams are arriving at. There has, apparently, been a lot of renovating and upgrading over the summer holidays.

Today, School Trunk have three teams in action.

One in Oxford at St Clare’s and two in London for Marymount International School and South Hampstead High School. One of the great things about School Trunk is that  there is a pool of talent to build teams to suit multiple jobs at one time. Work certainly has ebbs and flows with term starts and ends being our busiest periods. All Team Leaders are highly experienced and trained, with then Senior Porters and Porters to make up the teams.

The three re-deliveries today represent the variety we work with. Marymount and St Clare’s have a large focus towards International students. International is an area we work with a lot. Students from abroad simply can not take belongings all the way home so our service is perfect for them. We have also added an International shipment service so when a student has finished their studies, we can collect and ship all their belongings internationally.

South Hampstead High School is a more unusual one being a day school. We assisted them in moving furniture out of some classrooms, to another area of the school, so that they could thoroughly redecorate. Our tracking system and removal training meant that this could be performed smoothly and simply. Today, the team went back in and returned the classrooms to their original state.

The teams will continue to tackle multiple school this week, across the country.

We are hoping all our students and schools are enjoying their final days of holidays.

GCSE Results and Redeliveries begin ready for the start of the new term

Posted on 23 August

Today is GCSE results day. A nerve wracking day for students, parents and teachers alike. There is so much pressure on everyone. Opening that envelope is a seriously tense moment.  And then, it is over and the push for A-Levels begins.

At School Trunk, re-deliveries have now begun so that schools are ready for the arrival of students over the next few weeks. Next week is a seriously busy one for the School Trunk team. It will definitely be a case of all hands on deck. The teams, and their distinctive red polo shirts, will be invading London en masse. There are also teams heading as far south at Roedean in Brighton, up to Rugby and across to Badminton in Bristol.

Every re-delivery proves to be a different challenge for our teams. Older schools tend to have some narrow doorways or steep stairs to deal with. All girls schools tend to have quite a few extra boxes! But, our team leaders are always up for a challenge and this week, all the final preparations are being put in place  by the office staff.

Do get in touch if you have any last minute issues: students moving schools, gap years or International shipments can all still be assisted with.
